Carfin Pilgrimage 2009Thanks Lewis,
I'm going to make a point of going this year.
I was actually at 13:00 mass in the Glass Chapel a few weeks ago .
It really is a lovely place and visiting midweek means it is nice and quiet,

Brother Jonny, the Scottish KSC Pilgrimage to Carfin is on Sunday 13th September.
The Scottish National Pilgrimage to Carfin is held the week before on the Sunday 6th September. At this Pilgrimage the KSC act as stewards, escorts, offertory collectors, take part in the offertory procession and assist the Cardinal, Bishops and Priests when the distribute communion. Last year there were 78 duties in all which were carried out by our Brothers from the Scottish Provinces. I thank all those Brothers who assisted last year. As you can see by the number of tasks we are given we need as many Brothers as possible to attend and assist. (The KSC have been carrying out these duties for over 40 years) I will keep you updated about both nearer the time.

Carfin National Pilgrimage 2009Dear Brothers
National Pilgrimage Carfin Sunday 6 September 2009
Province 16 Officers had a meeting with Fr Tom Miller of the Pilgrimage Centre at Carfin. He informed us that number of Pilgrims going the Pilgrimage was expected increase by almost 50% as the Bishop of Lourdes would be attending. Father Miller has given the Knights of St Columba 91 duties to perform;
1 x Liaison Officer
20 x Offertory collection
40 x Communion (20 Points)
4 x Offertory procession
1 x Reader
2 x Banner bearer
20 x Guard (minimum)
3 x recruiting table
At the end of Mass there will be a Procession with the statue of Our Lady. At the start of the final hymn all Brothers will assemble at the foot of the altar. The Knights of St Columba are immediately after the Knights of the Holy Sepulchre in the procession. We are one of three organisations taking part. We have been given a great honour with a place in the procession, therefore it is essential that all Brothers participate. This is only time our numbers will be shown to those present.
The Province 16l Officers agreed that the arrival time of Brothers would be no later than 1:45 pm. Brothers attending should report to the rendezvous point; the Information Tent within the Grotto and make themselves known to Brother John Brennan (Province 16 Liaison Officer)
John
